We all know that Toyota and Honda, have a peak when it is fairly good working relationship with its suppliers, in addition to being the favorite car with U.S. suppliers want to do business.
But do not expect this, according to the results of the 7th edition of America North OEM-supplier relationships Tier 1 Performance of the study, efforts by General Motors to improve relations with its suppliers had a significant and positive impact on how their material suppliers that work with the company.

"Ford has announced a similar program at the same time as GM, but our study shows that the Ford program has been a disappointing failure. This is unfortunate because Ford more than ever dependent on the support of its suppliers to help her return, as has been Chrysler 1990. One of the keys to success Chrysler has been building strong relationships with suppliers on the road a decade of strong profits "Henke said.
Both General Motors (manufacturer also Hubcaps GMC) and Ford are far behind Toyota and Honda, which occupy 1 and 2, respectively, Study of Labor Relations Index (WRI). Nissan is ranked No. 3 in the number of DCX 4, and GM and Ford are ranked 5 and 6, respectively.
The rates of the six North American OEMs in 17 key WRI key areas that impact on working relationship with the supplier. These include such things as the degree of trust, open and honest communication, amount of aid given to suppliers to reduce costs and can benefit the supplier in OEM.
This year, Ford is placed in the bottom of the six OEMs in North America with a ranking of 162, down 12 points last year. GM rose to 174, 131, and Chrysler fell to 199 from 218 after four constant gain of the year. Chrysler decline is corroborated by a 50% decrease in the number of suppliers who consider DCX "privileged and very preferred" OEM work. Nearly 50% of Ford suppliers, this does not work with Ford.
About study
Now in its 7th year, the annual study determines the supplier working conditions in many areas in the domestic OEM North American (GM, Ford and DaimlerChrysler) and the foreign domestic OEMs (Toyota, Honda and Nissan).
This year, 308 suppliers - Who represent 52% of total annual purchases OEM - responded to the survey. Demographically, the supplier respondents represent 35 of 50 major North American suppliers, 58 of the 100 largest and 69 of the top 150 North American suppliers. The study concludes with the index relations Working (WRI), which is a quantitative ranking by suppliers of their working relationship with each of the six OEMs.
