1988 Ranger Problems Part 2?
Well, I'm back .. and I changed the MAP sensor and checked the ignition module ... is a change of fuel filter and change of pressure regulator fuel .... 2.9 V6 and its famous for those of you who know it no EGR on the engine. .. I still have problems with the Truck dogging down while driving is almost as if ... clogged fuel filter or something, but for now ... the truck all day and no problems and rarely posts .... and light check engine light does not ... and bought one. Actron code readers for Ford and the only thing I get is ... The oxygen sensor is running thin and does not change .. I have not replaced the oxygen sensor in a vehicle before .... with the same problem running rich or poor, has changed and he said the same later .. and can not believe is that the sensor is ...... ... does not appear to have vacuum leak .. and when the dogs get out of the smoke, a little black smoke ... Any ideas anyone?
Check the forums here, if nothing else comes out --- http:// Black smoke indicates www.therangerstation.com/ running too rich - it could be semi-clogged cat converter? If O2 is new and still get a code, perhaps the cable or connector is corroded --- give a false signal to the computer. You need a service manual output specifications of O2 to verify. Could be leaking fuel into the carburetor / injector ... maybe run some IFs own through the system several times.
